EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Welcome to CPUT’s Employment Relations (ER) approach, policies and practices. These courses will provide both employees and managers who wish to develop a foundational understanding of the legal and procedural aspects of the workplace in South Africa. We will focus on the essential skills needed to address common workplace issues, ensuring that all interactions are handled fairly, transparently, and in compliance with the Labour Relations Act. At CPUT, our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate real-world workplace challenges, promote fair labour practices, and contribute to a productive and harmonious work environment.

There are various courses, and by the end, you should be able to:

  • Identify your rights and responsibilities in the workplace, including your right to fair treatment.

  • Effectively and formally lodge a grievance, ensuring all necessary steps are followed to have your concerns addressed.

  • Understand the disciplinary process, your right to representation, and how to prepare for a disciplinary hearing.
